The Long War — a 100,000-Year Engine

Honest mechanics: this is a seeded story-machine for a work of fiction. Every run rolls one hundred thousand invented years of the Scarlet Clause world — same seed, same history — and the four faction field manuals crystallize the moment their patterns recur in that run. It performs; it does not predict. Nothing here is scripture, archaeology, or news.

The Chronicle

Events land here as the playhead passes them. The war is mostly quiet; that is its favorite weapon.

How the manuals crystallize

Each manual watches the run for its own patterns.

A doctrine is not written by anyone in the story — it condenses. When the same move works (or fails) enough times across the centuries, the faction that lived it gains a sentence it can never unlearn. The engine detects those repetitions in the event stream and stamps the doctrine with the year the pattern completed and the event that tipped it.

Reroll the seed and the same doctrines may crystallize in a different order, from different evidence, in different centuries — or a run may end with pages still blank. The manuals belong to the patterns, not to the script.
