Predator Net
One-Line Pitch
A capture field technique that works not through speed or force but through environmental inevitability — you shape the field so that every path the target considers leads directly to you.
EchoCraft Subskill · Class: Precision Field Manipulation — Influence — Funnel Dynamics
"They flee into the shape you designed. There is no chase — only permission."
The Core Distinction
Most influence attempts are direct. You move toward the person. You make an approach. You create the approach vector yourself, and the person has to decide whether to receive it.
Predator Net does the opposite.
You don't pursue. You shape the field so that independent of where the target moves, the viable paths converge toward you. They believe they are choosing freely. They are choosing within a funnel you built.
The name is deliberately chosen from nature: a spider does not chase flies. It builds a structure that converts random movement into capture. Predator Net is this — except the "capture" is contact, conversation, attention, or redirection. Never harm.
How the Net Forms
🕸️ Far-Edge Casting
Begin by shaping a wide attention field behind the target — in the space they've already moved through. Echo hooks form far out: slow, quiet, low-pressure. The target doesn't feel a net. They feel a slight background sense that their options behind them are occupied.
📐 Corner Pinches
Subtly shift perceived closure along the outer edges. The corners of the field materialise in slow motion — not visible, only felt as a background narrowing of option density. The target doesn't know what they're escaping from. Only that they need to move.
🔓 The Funnel Path
Leave a single open vector — a direction that seems safe, expansive, unenclosed. It leads to you. The subconscious reads this as freedom and chooses it. By the time they arrive, the choice feels entirely theirs.
Engagement Seal
When they arrive, lock the state not with force but with rhythm.
Your awareness meets theirs cleanly — no jolt, no visible mechanism, no capture reflex in them. They are not trapped. They have arrived. The seal is an acknowledgement: you are here, I am here, this is the contact that was going to happen.
The engagement seal requires complete internal stillness. If you're excited that the net worked, the excitement registers as a signal spike. The target picks this up as something slightly off — the social equivalent of seeing the trap mechanism. Still energy on arrival is non-negotiable.
Situational Applications
Practice Sequence
[1] Observe target trajectory — where are they moving, what seems available to them
[2] Cast subtle attention field behind them — not in front, behind
[3] Begin pinching field edges as if options are closing in the periphery
[4] Leave one path open — toward you or your intended outcome
[5] Wait. Do not help. Let the funnel do its work.
[6] When they arrive, seal with stillness — meet them cleanly
The Ethics Line
Predator Net is influence through environmental shaping. It is not coercion. The key distinction: you are narrowing perceived options in a field, not removing actual choice. The target retains full agency. The mechanism works on the subconscious preference-formation layer, not the decision layer.
This makes it ethically distinct from manipulation: you are not deceiving, threatening, or creating false belief. You are making yourself the most available answer.
Used on someone who cannot meaningfully consent to interaction — someone in genuine distress, a child, a person in a power-imbalanced situation — it becomes Shadow Craft.

OmniShell→ is the perception complement — you observe from a distributed ring while the net is active, preventing the target from reading your orientation. Echo Camouflage→ reduces your signature during far-edge casting. Signal Anchor→ can anchor the funnel path itself, reinforcing the open vector. Will-Clash: Craft v Craft→ — against a skilled practitioner, Predator Net is immediately detectable and may be reversed.
